Vortex Venom Mounting Question
November 19, 2018, 11:56:20 AM
Just took my Franchi Affinity 20 to our local gun shop to purchase a Vortex Venom and have it installed along with one of Gobbler74's protective mounts. Upon completing the fella handed me the gun back and said he got 22 inch pounds of torque on it and used loctite. I knew that sounded pretty darn high and upon calling Vortex when I got to the house I found out they only recommend 14 without loctite and 10-12 with. Are there any issue I should be aware of that could be cause with it being torqued down as much as it is? Everything seems extremely solid but I'm a pessimist and the thought of something going array is always in the back of my head on things such as this.

I'd call Vortex and ask them...Most likely anybody here would be guessing...
My guess, it won't matter that much...I guess the screws could fail due to excessive torque, but, like I say, it's a guess
