Well you know my take on the old flight control wad, so you know my recommendation would be reload them with a good wad. But you'd have been better off buying 2oz 10 ga loads for that purpose...$24/lb. plus you could have got 6s which are arguably a better choice for waterfowl up to geese.

Properly choked those loads will cleanly kill any turkey out there. A 2 3/4" shell shoots just as far as a 3 1/2" shell, you just have fewer pellets. You made a great buy.

Nothing wrong with 2 3/4, if they pattern the way you like them through your gun, do nothing but shoot them.
