THIS is why I LOVE the Winchester 1300.
« on: April 29, 2018, 06:12:28 PM »
I have never had a 1300 in my hands that didn't function flawlessly and pattern like a monster. My 26" camo Universal Hunter is no exception.   Polished and deep cleaned bbl, hevi shot .660 choke (exact same choke as the longbeard) and a Bushnell Trophy red dot. 40 yards with 1 3/4 ounce longbeard 5s.  Perfect.
Big Al's "Take-em" Style Silhouette decoys Pro-Staff.

Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind te most.

The 1300 has long been my family’s choice for a pump action turkey killer!

Great pattern!

My son has a 1300 that we set up for turkey hunting this year.  I was hoping to shoot LB 5s from his as well but the pattern was not quite what I hoped it would be.  Any idea what numbers you were getting in a 10" circle at 40 yards with your set up?  We were getting 110-115 if I remember correctly.  It would have worked but I was hoping for 140+ from the 5s.  We do get close to 150 or a little better with the LB 6s though.

Winnie 1300 is a excellent turkey shotgun. My 1300 has taken quite a few Gobblers.

Win 1300 Buck & Tom model, LB XR 3" #4 shot through a Carlson's XR Choke Tube w/ a Burris FastFire red dot. This has been my bird buster since 2006, but the choke tube is new. I used to shoot hevi-shot or win supreme  through a XX full comp-n-choke tube.
