So last night a buddy and I  were able to fill his tag with the bow, I made a quick call to another buddy and asked what his morning looked like, GAME ON!

Been a few years since we have hunted (I hunt with his son a lot) and his son and I both filled tags the week before. Made a plan to meet, I already had a set made and all we needed to do was get up on the ridge, 5:00am three trucks met in the bottom and we made are way up, set and ready to go by 5:30. Birds were talking good this AM and we had a few just behind our set. I started soft calling them on the roost and they fired back, they were close. My second round of calls and there gobbles cut me off, I did a flydown and a few yelps and the next gobble was already on his way. My buddy asks if they're on the ground, I gave him the yup nod and then I hear him strutting in, bird comes in from our right and is 17 yards out, I had his dad wait a bit while I caught some video, next 2 more toms step out and the 1st bird come out of strut and starts to sulk away... I did a few quick clucks and he put his head up, 5:52am and GAME OVER!!

Can't wait to get out again :)

One of my personal current interests is nest predators and how a majority of hunters, where legal bait to the extent of chumming coons.  However once they get the predators concentrated they don't control them.
