Same distance at a little over 40 yards
Beretta a300 turkey 12 guage with Jebs Headhunter .655 choke
pic one is Federal TSS 3 inch #9, pic 2 is Longbeard XR 3 inch #5

SKFOOTER

The Federal TSS #9 load will pattern better with a tighter choke.

I have a Jebs 650. May pattern it with the TSS. Probably switch to #7 shot when I shoot up the 9s

I wouldn't switch from TSS 9's to 7's.  TSS is a lot denser than lead and the 9's will put more shot on target.  Plenty of energy with 9's.

Agreed and that being said what you have is a nice hunting pattern.
I would stick with the 9's also.

Only reason to shoot TSS 7s at turkeys is if the law doesn't allow 9s (based on 10 yrs experience shooting 9s)

100%

PSEoutlaw07

that looks about perfect at 40 yards with the TSS patttern

I found a decent price on a Kicks .665 and the pattern looks decent with XR #5. May do a little more tweaking, but it will work in A300. I considered a Jebs as well.

Like in Indiana which is 7 1/2.

you cant compare with same choke. Those 5`s can get alot tighter, & are $5 cheaper a shell. Just as dead

What were your 10" pellet counts with each?

i didn't count them, but clearly there is twice as many with TSS

7s are a waste of space if 9s are legal.  You get 185 to the oz with 7s while you get 362 to the oz with 9s.  9s are plenty to kill a turkey at 40 yards.  I would hunt that pattern you have with the TSS 9s all day every day.  Good luck!
