So...i finally got paypal with the urging of several people and some great help from them...now I have been selling and buying with paypal and just sold a call and  now I have a 21 day hold on my funds since I am new to it...this is unacceptable to me...how do I get this changed or do I wait??? :z-dizzy:

MISSISSIPPI Double beard

They made me wait to after my first sale. Sucks though.
They call him...Kenny..Kenny

I have sold and bought over 5 items...now a hold...the wrong time of year for this

Fl strutter

It did that to me also. If it's family and friends it will go right thru but 1st time a guy sent money as non gift it told me up to 30 days. I cancelled it and he sent as gift and went straight to my account.

Ok...i see how that works...kind of a bummer!!

Yeah but as a gift you get no protection if seller decides not to ship it you can not open a dispute to get your money back. I have only done gift if seller is a more than reputable seller and I know they can be trusted. But if a newer seller it can depend on the amount sent or just because you are a new seller sometimes buyer uses what they call a e-check where Pay Pal gets the money from buyers bank and it dose not release the funds till the buyers bank transfers the money to Pay Pal and it's not always instant from bank to pay pal.

So for those of you that have used paypal for awhile now..does the 21 day wait eventually go away??

Yes, it eventually goes away once you have enough transactions. I have used it for 15 years and have had zero issues

Yes it goes away after selling 25 item and $250. However if after a while you do not use it for a while they will put the restriction back on it for the same 25 items $250. So make sure you keep it flowing after the release.

If you sell it on eBay, after the buyer leaves positive feedback you get your money then. At least that's what they did the first time I sold something on there.

My experience also. Plus they don't suspend your account if you stop selling in my experience. But then I have thousands of transactions on e-bay and I maintain a 100% rating which is very important. It alo helps to send items on time and pay.
Everyone wants to be successful - some just need help.

I think these are your answers. When I first started using it about 15 yrs., I'm pretty sure I went though the same thing you are. You can also check with Paypal and they will explain why the wait to get your money.

True, I bought a knife from another forum using PayPal friends and family last Thurs. I sent an e-check from my bank checking account and the seller is not expected to receive the funds in their PayPal account until this coming Thurs. I will not use that method again.
