Triger pull

What is your trigger pull or your preference. My turkey shotgun has a very heavy pull and I was thinking of switching my Thompson Pro Hunter to a 20 gauge barrel to have a very light trigger pull of 2.5 lbs. Some individuals think that 2.5 is to light for a rifle not to mention a shotgun. The Pro Hunter however has an external hammer and I always keep my thumb on the hammer until the second I shoot.

I believe that a heavy trigger on a shotgun can impact POA

I had my 835 trigger worked on 10 years ago and lowered it to 2 3/4 lbs.  I hated the creep and 5 1/2 lb trigger that came with it.  I was always wondering is this thing every going to go off.  With the tight patterns we shoot with our turkey guns, I owed it to myself and the turkeys I hunt.

I would feel safe with a 2.5# trigger in the encore, would prolly want something a little heavier in a pump or semi auto

Same as my hunting rifles, 3-3.5 lbs.

I keep my booger hook off the bang switch no matter what the pull is until it's time to shoot.  That said I don't want to have to think about dragging the trigger back, yank or slap the trigger because it's 8lbs when it's time to shoot.

Same here, hate a heavy trigger pull, TC should solve that. Gun smith told me only a fool would have a 2.5lb trigger pull on a hunting gun. Told him I guess I'm a fool then.

There are some companies that do trigger adjustments on shotguns if your not comfortable doing it yourself. The trigger on my Browning is way too heavy. Might have it worked on as well.

x2. I think mossy's have an 8 pound trigger pull from the factory.

The early Mossy trigger pulls were very heavy.  About 8 years ago they came out with the LPA triggers that were adjustable.  I believe they have a 3-5 lb adjustment.
