I may be in my vest. Or it might be hanging in the basement. I tend to not get to excited till all the part timers wear themselves out. I hunt an hour or two here and there until the first two weeks have passed.

I have really trimmed down what I carry to what I "kill" birds with... (beyond the 2 bags I carry for Morels :) Those are a necessity) I have been using a small Badlands hip pack to carry my gear.

Here's my Pack Dump.

I was thinking the same thing.  I have always tried to take as little as possible. Honking around these mts in N Ga I want to be a light as possible . If I can get by with out it then its not in my vest.
Here is my load this morn.
Tater 2 vest
HS backpacker blind ( its light and ill need it where im at)
Lynch Fool Proof box (maybe)
Natural Addiction Zebra with persimmon striker.
Two Hooks mouth calls
Bottle Water
Turkey Tote.
sandwich bag and rubber band to put over the dead birds head.

Thats about it besides my gloves and head gear and a small light.

Tom Foolery

6 shells
Gloves
TP
multi-tool
lighter
Yingling copper over slate
Primos Alumi-strut
a couple strikers
2 mouth calls

The Southpaw

870
extra shells
primos power crow
halloran green slate
cody woodsman
2 stikers
three mouth calls that my buddy makes custom for me
thermacell
tags/pen
knife
gallon ziploc bags for mushrooms or turkey meat (depending on how far I am from the truck)
water

I don't generally use a vest anymore.  IF I did, the answer would be "Way too much".  Simple butt pack now with a pot call, TP, pruners, water bottle, maybe a snack and a couple extra shells.

richard black

Anthony Ellis AGE pink ivory trumpet, Tom Gaskins scratch box, and a mouth call. Plenty for me.

In order of what I will probably use

Cody World Class Slate
Woodhaven Ninja Hammer mouth
Primos Bamboozled crystal
Woodhaven triple reed  mouth call not sure which one

hobbes

A few shells, a half dozen mouth calls, maybe a box call if the weather is ok, a crow and owl, a bottle of water, a few snacks, license, phone/camera/OnXmaps.  I used to carry more but realized i wasnt using half of it and the number of turkeys I killed had no relation to the amount of junk I carried.

Gooserbat

One of my personal current interests is nest predators and how a majority of hunters, where legal bait to the extent of chumming coons.  However once they get the predators concentrated they don't control them.
