anyone know what this marking mean?

Usually marks an SMZ or area that will not be cut.

X2– it's a boundary mark on where to stop cutting timber probably close to a creek or stream as I saw some hardwood in the background !

Yes the lay down in the back ground is the propety line, but some one told me the slashes meant clear cut or thin, any clue on this?
