New Halloran Pots

Went to the mailbox an hour ago and a spalted maple red slate and laminate crystal mistress from David was waiting for me! Both sound great with the 1pc strikers David matched them with. Put the other pots I got from him this year in the pic too.

How does that red slate sound compared to the green ?  I have the green one and wondered if it's worth having both if there is a noticeable difference ?

The red slate runs higher pitched than the green slate.
Red is hit or miss, so David wanted to glue some up and try them out before promising me one.

I love my solid Zebrawood Mistress , that Mistress is sweeet too! He's pumping some killers out. His new Walnut Box I hear made it into Field and Stream too .

To me the zebra mistress sounds very similar to, but a touch higher on the front than the flamed box elder. Definitely a higher front than the original mistress.
