Doing a little looking on Google Earth and trying to determine the distance from certain listening spots to likely roosting areas on a property I have access to hunt. I am curious as to how far most of you believe you can hear a turkey gobbling? Keep in mind I am talking about "on the roost". Let's just say it's optimum conditions, low humidity and low or no wind conditions - early season in hardwoods or mixed hardwood/pine timber with little to no leaves on the trees.
I know my hearing is not what it used to be. I can often times hear them gobbling, but coursing them can sometimes be difficult for me when they are off at long distances.
I appreciate the input.
