I stopped by to see David and Ashley today and my Ole Buddy Cornbread at the Convention. I had bought his older Laminate Slate a couple weeks ago and had him sign it for me to go with all my other Halloran calls.
I got the MM2 while I was at it. Played the Green Slate for plans of ordering when I build my stash back.
Talked awhile and him and Cornbread let me have a look at a small box in the corner. He said take your pick from here only 5 made and no one has one.
They were Flamed Box Elder pots from the wood he got from Harold Fowler and built those limited Crystal Mistress calls from. Call was Red Slate surface.
The call is incredible. It plays just like a Crystal call but tames down like a slate for the soft stuff.
I was thrilled to get the opportunity to own one.
I ain't turning loose of it. Prized possession. I sure enjoy catching up with David and Cornbread each year. Two good guys that I'm happy to call friends.
My first Red slate call and it screams!
