Jimmy Schaffer slates

I just wanted to share with anyone that don't have a jimmy Schaffer zebra slate.  You need to get one because they are the sweet!! And they are full of turkey.  This is my first calls from Mr. Schaffer,  he is a super nice guy.  And he builds one heck of a pot call. If I could post a sound file I would.

Jimmy is a great guy. I have some aluminum calls that are super and his blue Mahoe crystal and zebra wood/blue mahoe crystals are some of the best.

Jimmy makes some sweet sounding calls.  I have a lacewood/padduck ceramic that I got last summer that I can't wait to try out along with his  prototype cystral.  I think someone else mentioned it but look into his blue mahoe cystrals as well I have a couple different ones but I one I like best is blue mahoe/redhart/cherry with a cherry sound board.

I met Jimmy in Nashville yesterday and bought 3 calls from him: tear drop soft caller and two crystal over slate pot calls.  One of the pot calls is heart pine taken from a 230 year house in Georgia.  Great calls.  Jimmy is a class act.
