11 87 barrel

I have a 11 87 that I bought new in 88. I'm looking for a short,21" barrel,vent rib, choke barrel. Would the newer mag barrel work?

Hopefully someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think there would be any issue.  I bought a used 21" barrel and stuck on my old 11/87.  I wasn't aware there could be any issues.

As long as it has the same chamber length it will be fine.

My gun is 3". Mag barrel is 3.5". I know I can't shoot 3.5" shells. So the mag barrel will work?

No. It won't fit. You'll need to find a barrel with a 3" chamber.

I assumed "mag barrel" meant 3".  I agree a 3.5" barrel won't fit!
