I used to have the Lovett Williams live turkey tapes but gave them away years ago.  Thinking about getting a live turkeys recorded DVD for a young hunting partner.  Any suggestions about what is best?  He listens to live turkeys on youtube but this would be to listen to while he's driving.

Mike Battey's Spittin' Feathers CD is excellent sound quality and just turkey sounds, and a bit of owl, crow, and hawk at the end. No narration and there is only a short segment of music on the intro. Very easy to listen to. It appears Mike has taken down his website, so you'd have to track him down to see if his CD is still available.

Thanks.  I found Lovett's CDs at Amazon and Midwest Turkey Call Supply..  Couldn't find anything from Battey.  I guess those two guys are the only ones who ever recorded live turkeys for selling tapes or CDs.

I had the Williams and it is good but nothing can replace just sitting in the woods listening, a buddy sent me a video a few weeks back in deer season of some turkeys that he said had flown up in the tree he was in around 10 in the morning and one was making a sound he had never heard, I told him it was a Kee Kee, they had gotten busted by something and one was trying to call the flock back together, that is a awesome sound to hear one we don't hear much I the spring!

Battey only ever sold his direct.   Another one to look at is the Tree Top Turkeys series.

Cool thing about Lovett CDs is he was a turkey biologist and explains why the birds are vocalizing the way they are.  Pretty informative.

I just ordered #3.  Appreciate that input.
I have the Treetop Turkeys CD but it's scratched in one spot so I thought I'd try something different.
Love to hunt the King of Spring!

Denny Gulvas dvd's from Midway.
They don't get much better or
realistic. They're all shot on public
land and NO! music.
