Don't over look Neal Herrman on the forum , he makes some killer strikers and is always willing to help people on the forum...

Have to agree, I have two diamond wood strikers from him and they make the calls roll over effortlessly.

My all time favorite is a yellow heart striker I got bout 25 years ago from heart of dixie game calls. Another favorite is purple heart on slate and glass.

It depends, I like different strikers depending on the call surface. The strikers always in my vest are Halloran hickory, ipe, blood wood, lights out birch, dymondwood and a stuckey Macassar ebony.

You asked for one so my vote goes to tulipwood. In my experience it has been the most versatile on different surfaces. That beind said , i have so many strikers and its hard to narrow down the best one I own. I have a few awesome ones , several good ones and some well not so goodbones. Im a fan of tulip , macassar , dymond , osage , purpleheart , yellowheart and hickory. Those seem to ride along in my vest every year. The maker may change but the wood type pretty much stays the same.
