Shooting this years Hevi 13  3.25/ 2.25/ 7's and 3/2/7's.  Getting the high numbers that you hear about.  The chokes i am shooting are all .665 and .670.  Hastings .665 and Pure Gold .670 and Hevi Choke .671.  Not so sure you can get those kind of numbers out of a choke that open. .680 and .690 are the diameter that can be achieved with a flush mounted choke.   I would tighten the diameter of the choke.  That could be the issue along with other factors rather than the quality of the Hevi 13.

last years #6's i was getting 220, this year 196 with 7's.  Both out of the same choke.  Lot number is 300487.

XXX4XX  That 4 in the lot # seems to be the bad ones.

That's the problem not the choke

Getting less numbers than 6's..there definately is something wrong.  Maybe try another box of Hevi 13.  Stuff gets expensive when it comes to buying disposable boxes of Hevi-13..i would go back to shooting 6's and call it a day.  220 with 6's is business for killing turkeys..

Im getting 290 in a 10 at 40 with this years lot number out of a Mossberg 935 shooting the hevi-13 #7 shot in 3 1/2 inch. This is my first year shooting the hevi-13 loads, so i cant compare to last years lot numbers, but i am more then pleased with the results compared to my lead loads. I would try a Indian creek .675 choke (thats what i use), or a pure gold .670 choke, here they work real well in the 835's. Im sure one of these will up your numbers alot.

Did some more shooting today.  OK results but still not up to last years number 6's and unfortunately I only have one of those left.

835 with Mad Max .680 = 196 same as the Jellyhead .690, but the 20" pattern wasn't near as good as it was with the JH.

935 with Mad Max .680 = 212.  20" patter was nice.

I am going to put the JH in the 835 and the MM in the 935 and flip a coin to see which one gets taken out the first day.

I am not upset with any of the patterns, as they will kill any turkey I plan on shooting at, they just aren't the numbers I was expecting.
