Best of the year

Well, didn't get to go as much this year as in years past. Between trying to keep up with the business and some personal stuff time was limited. Finally scored on a decent buck during our BP season. Was hunting with a good buddy of mine and we'd already seen several smaller bucks and countless does. Had already moved to a second location that morning and was getting ready to move to a third. Had my gun on my shoulder and took two steps in the direction of the new location when he told me that this buck had just stepped into the field with my name in it. It's smaller than what he normally takes from that place and he wasn't interested in it at all. Told me to shoot it if it would make me happy as we both stood there trying to judge him. Needless to say, we both misjudged him by a fair margin but I'm not upset in the least. Best buck I've killed in several years and could actually be my biggest overall. Not certain as I've not taped him out nor do I intend to. Just pleased to get him. Gonna hopefully get over there more in the future and get a crack at one of the bigger ones. I'll also enclose a pic of the one that I'd had my eyes on earlier this season. Fella ended up shooting him a few farms over during gun season. Sad to see him go but was still stoked that one of my acquaintances got him.
