Fat Bluegill

[Spring Creek Calls]

I'm in northern Michigan fishing my favorite lakes where we catch gills up to 11". Here's one from yesterday morning, 10 3/4" and over a pound. The fillet fish is over 9".

MAKES FOR EASY FILLETING PAN FISH
BRINGS BACK SOME MEMORIES WHEN WE , MY FATHER AND BROTHER WOULD CATCH
A COOLER FULL , AND THATS WHEN THE WORK BEGINS.
THE LEFT OVERS WOULD MAKE FOR SOME REALLY GOOD FERTILIZER .........

That is one pig of a Gill! We've actually just a found a good spot with 7-10" Gill and there's absolute MONSTER Redear, had 3 10+" and one 12".... Pan fishing with an ultralight is the best way to keep occupied when you're catfishing, especially when they're worth cleaning!!!

I have hit my favorite bluegill hole here in MissourI a couple times this Summer. They rate extremely high on the best eating fish out there!

That's a good one. My new pond is filling as we speak. Hybrid bluegill will be stocked for the kids.
