Triple beard turkey mounts
« on: July 04, 2017, 07:08:46 PM »
This year I killed my first triple beard. He's at the taxidermist now and I still haven't decided the best way to get him mounted. What is your guys advice on how to get a multi bearded bird mounted ? Any pics would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
John

Get him mounted gobbling...if your wanting to show off the beards.Gobbling on a limb is a very good pose or gobbling on a stump if you have room for a floor mount.

Both good ideas. I've done both and both show the beards well.

Have a double-bearded Eastern done gobbling on the limb............. have a triple-bearded Rio done in a 1/2-3/4  strut floor mount.  Both show the multiple beards very well.
PA elitist since 1979

The good Lord ain't made a gobbler I can't kill.  I just gotta be there at the right time.....  on the day he wants to die.

Dying to get back out in the woods. Unfortunately I moved overseas a few months ago and won't make it back in time for opening day, but will be home late March to hunt for a few weeks. The taxidermist called the weekend before we moved and had my bird ready. Really pleased with how it turned out.
