My Grandpa joined the Army at 16 volunteered for the airborne then volunteered for the gliders. At 17 he was in one of the few plywood gliders the 101st. Airborne successfully landed the night before D-day he never really elaborated on what went on the day before or during D-day but he did say he never vollenteered for anything else in his life lol. The finest man I have ever known.

Visiting the Omaha Beach Memorial and paying our respects at the American Cemetery was a profoundly moving experience for me and my family.  Thank you for the reminder.
