Cedar over Poplar paddle call from Steve Mann. Since 2004, well over 100 gobblers have came to this box. It's deadly. I take it on every hunt- no exceptions.

I don't own a single longbox yet,,but it looks like a cedar lid is the one to consider when I do.

Guys,,would "spalted" Sycamore make for a good sounding long box or is it too brittle ,,with those nice  black lines and specks in a long piece of wood I think it would be beautiful,,anybody know of any examples.
