Had a Great Year, my youngest son shot a Turkey opening day. He said it was the best hunt he had ever been on. He just graduated last week and has been going to the woods with me since about 5.
I shot one the next day right off the roost.2 year old bird.
A week later called in 2 Toms to within 20 yds. Shot the bigger of the 2 with the 20 gauge.
Took a friend out on the last week of season he had never been Turkey hunting. Got one in to 35 yds. for him he moved and Turkey took off. Had a chance at 2 Toms another day at 30 yds. I told him to shoot, he never did shoot. Later he said he thought one might have been a hen( we saw a hen earlier).Those Toms leave but we circle around and I get out a box call that seems to work when nothing else will. I yelped a few cuts 10 minutes later he shot his First Turkey!
