went to ricks lil hot spot about 2 o'clock around 5 o'clock we went to ride the roads and spotted this bird and 5 hens in a fence row i jumped out got my gear together and went on a half mile hike to get around'em by the time i got to the only place i could set up they had already past me up by about ten yards so i had to cross a wet weather creek about half full of water and  got down on my belly and crawled as close as i could to them by the time i called they were 20 yards i called as softly as i could and the hens came back across in front of me and brought the tom with them i shot him at about 30 yards with ricks  20 gauge had 19 inches of beard and weighed 21.7 pound his spurs were short
