I had some luck calling a bird in for a one of my buddies friends! He gave me a call here a couple of weeks ago to see if I had some time to take them on a hunt. We made a game plan, first day was a pretty rough morning, started out by going by someone else's "scouting" and they had them birds so buggered up... he was in on the roost shot a bird right down from the tree and busted the rest of the roost... of course this wasn't mentioned until after the "All them birds are on the next ridge" and then heard his story of shooting his bird. Well I took them to one of my farms the next day and he ended up killing his first bird ever with me!! Was an awesome hunt, spotted the birds did a bit of a run & gun set out a DSD upright hen. Had a number of birds working and then the Boss started gobbling, he chased off some subs and worked his way in. Killed him at 17 yards! & he is a stud 23lbs 11oz, 1 3/8" spurs and 10 3/4" beard.

One of my personal current interests is nest predators and how a majority of hunters, where legal bait to the extent of chumming coons.  However once they get the predators concentrated they don't control them.

He could hunt a long time without beating his first bird.  Well done!
