I have a daughter with CP. She is wheel chair bound but nothing keeps her down. We've caught cutthroats in Yellowstone, climbed small mountains in the Tetons, snuck of on families of tree ducks in Texas and so on. She's got wilderness in her veins.
Every time she sees me leaving to scout this year she wants to go. Sadly walking mud trails is not possible for her power chair. And I have carried her to the top of NFL football stadiums but that's a bit different compared to the hills of western New York.
I need to find a way to get her in the field. I don't have access to a ranger or gator. Maybe I could rent one. That would be the best option. That would probably be the easy part:
The hard part? Helping her take the shot. She has a bit of trouble controlling her fingers but I'm sure I could help her pull the trigger on a crossbow. Something silent with little kick. Has anyone helped someone with cerebral palsy or some other spastic condition take a bird?
any input would be great. I know we will make it happen. I haven't let anything else stop us from reaching a goal. Not about to let it happen with this one either!
