I can see how this could get addicting...  This is my second season and I am thinking about adding to my call stable.

I currently have Mr. Sneed's Outlaw and Hot Hen pots, Woodhaven Red and Black Wasps and a Lynch's Foolproof box(which was the doom of my first Gobbler).  I like all of these calls and plan on keeping them.

With that in mind, what calls would you recommend to add to my vest?  I am not locked in, but the SS boxes and Halloran pots come so well recommended, that I am really interested in trying them.

One more question, I live in sometimes rainy Fl, should I consider a wet weather pot, like the Enticers?
Thanks in advance for your help!

As far as pots go, I really like my Lonzo stoned aluminum/alum....it runs very easy and will roll over no matter the volume, sweet little pot. Sounds very real and full in the woods, many pots turn thin to my ears in the big woods.

Get ready for about 100 different answers, but I'll say a Jeff McKamey box from Twisting Creek.  I have a long box from him that will forever be in my vest.  My favorite call.

SS and Halloran are great choices too.

Depends on what your looking for. I run a Halloran Twisted Sister and a Hanks Zebrawood Crystal alongside my hot hen most of the time. Both are WONDERFUL calls. I prefer the Halloran a bit more, but this year was my first getting into aluminum. I purchased a Hanks aluminum over glass in a padauk pot and it was the demise of my first bird of the year. Nothing at all was working and at around 9:45-10 I pulled it out and the first sequence I ran he hammered. Aluminum to my ears is such a good swap up. I really feel the "twang" and shrill of the aluminum is what caused him to gobble and I'm in the market for other aluminum pots as we speak.

Get with Mike from Spring Creek calls and get you a long box..he makes a good one...He also makes a good short box...

I agree with Coop. If your looking at the Halloran calls, I also run the Twisted Sister and really like it (the birds do too) . You may also want to try a Scott Basehore Cedar scratch box. She is a sweet little turkey talker. Just a thought, might give you a little more variety.

Per the two call makers you mentioned

Halloran Twisted Sister
SS Kwila & Butternut short box

Have the fry oil ready

Spitten and drummen

Personnally I would call Eddie Wynne and order a slate or call Brad Roberts and order a glass over Aluminum. Seriously it is so many great calls out there now , it will make your head spin trying to choose one. That's why most of us on here have a truck load of them and need a call buying addiction hot line

SS custom make excellent short boxes and long boxes. I have short boxes and long boxes in many combos! They all run easy and look great! Their turn around time is excellent. Give Al a call and he will make you a killer!

Thanks guys!  I appreciate all the recommendations.  I just ordered a Twisted Sister from David Halloran.  There are still several more on my list...  Patience, right???
