SA-459 trigger

I know there is some info on here somewhere about this but maybe some people have found something new. I was out pattening my sa-459 20 today and as great as it is, it's got a god aweful trigger. I killed 4 birds with it last year and put it away,  I forgot how bad it is. Anybody have any luck doing a trigger job on these, who did you send it to and how long did it take? Were you able to just send the trigger group or the whole gun. Im not looking for a 2 pound trigger, just something that breaks nice maybe around 4 1/2 and take out the grit. Thanks

Send it off to Rob Roberts Custom Gun . He does awesome work.It will come back with a nice crisp creep free trigger with a pull of about 3.5 lbs.Lee

I'm interested in what ans. you get about the trigger. i was thinking of buying one of these for next season. How do you like the gun and what shell and choke were you using..  Are all the triggers this way on the 20 gauge?

Are most of the trigger this way on these guns..hard to pull ? What choke and shell are you shooting ?

Not sure about others, mine wasnt all that bad. It was better than all of my Remingtons i own. It was about 5.5 lbs with just a little creep.Lee

Mine on my 12 guage is junk worst trigger ever. Love the feel of the gun and the performance. The trigger feels like I have to pull it 4 inches and it's like squishy and then boom. It shoots good just wish I woulda bought it in 20 guage. My Thompson center and my Remington 11-87 Mossberg 500 all have beautiful factory triggers clean crisp and no creep spongy junk. Let me know what you find out. I really want to just sale my 12 and order a 20.

My SA-459 20 is awesome, I love everything about it except the trigger. I shoot HW 7's and Tss 9's through a sumtoy 562, also had nice patterns with the Carlson 575 non ported. The gun is very light which is part of the reason the trigger is so noticeable. It has a long mushy pull which makes it very easy to pull off target. I killed a rio with it at 42 last year, misjudged the cactus he was strutting behind. It's a great gun, don't let the trigger scare you away.

I have one and it is an extremely long trigger pull. I don't think the weight of the trigger is excessive, but the pull needs shortening. Like poster above me, this is the only flaw I find with the gun.

Does it cycle 3 inch ammo with no problems and how is the safety ?

ED graham.   Grahams gun shop in New ALbany ms fixed mine up for about 75 bucks  plus he sells some pretty nice turkey calls.

Yes but would send trigger off. I would either buy a sa-459 20 or a browning silver hunter 20. Different price range. But I believe the sa-459 is best turkey gun package a man can buy otd for the money. Trigger is terrible everything else is great!
