JEBS Headhunter with BPS Inv+?

Anyone have any experience with this combo or have any insight on which constriction would be best suited for a BPS Inv+ barrel? The offered constrictions seem awfully tight for the Inv+ but according to Clark and what I've read from him it has more to do with the internals. My concern spans from shooting a .665 Carlson's LongBeard XR out of a new 26" BPS with WIN LB #5s and getting very dense cores an not much room for error surrounding it. Just makes me a little gunshy when I see the offered constrictions being .650, .655, and .660 from JEBS so any info would be greatly appreciated!

I completely understand your concerns. My experience with the JEB's and that of all the folks who've purchased them from me, is that it really is all about the "internal geometry" of the choke. The .655 should work very well with the Invector+ barrel and with the WLB shells with #5 shot. https://allaboutshooting.com/products/jebs-12-gauge-turkey-choke-invector I have several guns with Invector+ bores and I use the .650 with WLB and Hevi-13 #6 shot and .655 with the #5 shot.

And just out of curiosity Clark if you don't mind me asking between a JEBS and a pure gold .670 out of the BPS which route would you go? I've pretty well got it narrowed down between the two, and just looking for a little more feedback on the comparisons between them.

Both the JEB's and the Pure Gold are well-made, finely machined chokes that you can be proud to put into your shotgun. I've shot both extensively with both WLB shells and with Hevi-13 shells. Both can deliver good even patterns without 2" or larger gaps in them.

In the Invector+ bores, the JEB's just patterns better in my guns and those that I've seen. It's also exceptionally consistent.

Again, both are fine chokes and manufactured by true gentlemen.

By design the longbeards are going to have a very dense core which leaves little room for error, especially at close ranges.  We got a very even pattern shooting the longbeards when they first came out using a Rob Roberts .660 and also an Indian Creek .665 out of a SX3 and browning gold.

Please understand, I have nothing again Jebs chokes; I have one but it didn't pattern as good as the indian creek so it's sitting in the safe, but there are great chokes at a much better price point.

Appreciate the replies fellas. I fully understand that trying to "open" LongBeards up is probably not going to happen, but I have seen some really nice even patterns on here shooting them. With my current setup with the Carlson LB XR .665 were talking the majority of the pattern inside a 8" circle with a super hot core.  It's really cool on paper, but i was just looking for something a little more even, that can still do numbers in a 10 at 40 and the majority vote I've seen has been a PG, JEBS, and even some ICs out of INV+.
