Gobbling in west KY
« on: February 26, 2017, 10:45:13 AM »
24 degrees here this morning. Birds gobbled pretty good for about an hour. Saw 5 strutterrs with a bunch of hens and prolly heard 7 more that didn't show.

My guess is that the 5 I saw were all 2yr olds and the ones that stayed on the ridge were the older boys. They didn't gobble near as much either. Hopefully I'll be lucky enough to kill one.

Nice. Heard some gobbling myself on Saturday. We got caught in a thunderstorm while rabbit hunting and the turkeys were shock gobbling with the thunder. Really had me considering changing gears but then there's that whole "season" thing that got in the way.

Very windy here this morning but they were gobbling good. I actually walked past 2 in the dark and had to sneak around them on my way out.
