Chas SC area have heard birds rolln since late Jan.  Buddy heard 8 hollern this past Sat. That said I have hunted enough to opine that photoperiod trumps temps.

The photoperiod is interesting.
But the weather plays an important part on how hunting conditions develop.
The hens on the nests for instance have a affect on the amount of gobbling  and this will change with the weather. Everything I read said the weather played a role on the increase or decrease of the breeding activity.
Ground temperature  can effect hen nesting .
From what I read photoperiodism has to be at an amount of daylight for breeding to begin .
Temperatures can speed up or slow down the breeding cycle.
