Mossberg 930 madd max 655, longbeard xr 13/4 5 shot, should I be content or try hevi #6 , this isn't a fluke pattern its between 180 to 195 every time.

If that's a 40 yard pattern it's pretty tight. I would personally go to something a little more forgiving for those up close and personal moments but it's your call. Will definitely kill and if you can feel confident of putting it on target at close range then hunt it. Good luck

I would try Hevi and if I got 135 or more with an even pattern I would hunt it.

it's not the harvest,it's the chase

Would not be what I am looking for.  Too concentrated.

At minimum, I'd try LB #6s for more coverage.  I'd also try Hevi 6s because not only will the pattern be more dense, I'm a Hevi shot fan and I really like how well Hevi shot thumps a turkey.

I killed three birds with Longbeard 5s the first year I used them.  Two of those were at 25 yards and I killed them on the third shot after missing.  Too tight for me but are amazing at 40 for lead.  Hevi 7s since and won't be changing.

Hevi 7s gave me the best at 20 and I still have around 235 at 40 yds.
