What sight are you running on your Benelli SBEII or SBEII?

What is the best mount, best sight, and why?

What is the best way to remove the plugs in the reciever, or do I have to have it drilled and tapped?

reynolds243

Speedbead and FF3. Will never look back

^This^ Those plastic plugs will pop out if you push up on them from underneath with something small diameter to poke them out with.

OK guys broke down the brand new sbe3 today after terrible patterning results yesterday. My SBE3 was 10-12 inches high and about 4-6 inches to the left consistently with all types turkey loads out of Indian Creek .665 that shot awesome out of my sbe2. I shot gun with Benelli factory full and it's beautiful at 20 and way to spread out at 40 with pattern be just a smidge high but dead center. So now I have ordered a sumtoy choke, a sumtoy fastfire 3 mount and a Burris fastfire 3. I am waiting on them to come and will do some shooting.

Good choice all a round, let us know how it shoots after everything comes in.

It's really hard to find a benelli that shoots straight. You will like the fastfire

Thanks for posting this. Love Benellis dependability, but they should address poa/poi problems when commanding the price they do... Or sell them with optics already installed...Lol...I have an old H/K and 2 Sbe2s...if I ever buy another it won't be the 3.5s ..Maybe M2 ..I think the problems stem from half the receiver being part of the barrel, but could be wrong. Anyone know for sure???

With Benelli full choke gun shoots a tad high but dead center, the problem begins when we start putting our turkey chokes on them. Benelli USA emailed me and told me their guns are designed to shoot 6 inches high, and their spec is 2 inches left or right and up to 6 inches high. The reason is the Europeans like to shoot under bird when wing shooting where we were trained with our old Remington's to point and shoot they shoot under target. That's at least what Benelli use told me. My sbe2 shot 2 inches high dead center at 20 and 40 and that was probably the way I lined up the beads. That gun was accurate and I should have kept it instead of selling it last Tuesday and buying a sbe3 that shoots with same choke 12 inches high and 5-6 inches to the left. So that being said I believe if you used factory Benelli chokes that come with gun you are good to go. However when you begin to add these extended tighter restricting chokes it begins to cause some problems, so now we have to find the best aftermarket choke that works the best. I have heard guys with Mossberg's, Remington's, Winchester's, etc have same trouble with aftermarket chokes so I think it's a universal issue that mainly shows up more with Benellis maybe due to their tighter barrels I dunno! I just hope I get mine straightened out because I love the feel of it!

Have you heard if the M2s are the same? Throw a factory choke in your Sb3 just out of curiosity and see if you get a chance.

Yes sir once you put the factory full back in my SBE3 she shoots beautiful at 20 with 3" 2oz Magnum blend 5,6,7 bit at 40 just too wide spread for me. Need a good choke that will hold tighter at 40 and shoot POA/poi. I hope this will be fixed with a sumtoy

I was able to move my poa/poi by trying different turkey choke/load combos in one of my SBE2s I was having the same issue with. I could've put a good sight on it for all the money I put into doing it that way,but didn't feel right about my barrel aiming 6 or so inches left or right of where I was aiming. Love the guns, but definitely finicky for the money....Goodluck sounds like you'll be set...

POI...What I found was the barrels on the benelli will loosen very easily with these heavy loads. Even on my waterfowl guns. I hand tighten as tight as I can then use channel locks with a glove or some protector and tighten 2 additional clicks. Shoot and if POI is within specs will mark the spot with nail polish. Then dial in my FF3. Have not shot the SBE 3. However have been shooting them for 25 years. the small barrel makes them very finicky with different shells and chokes.
Thanks, RP
