Deer season
« on: February 09, 2017, 07:21:26 PM »
I hunted both my kids this deer season, rotating one each weekend. My son, I started letting him sit alone and he did as he was taught. We saw plenty deer and passed many young deer. The highlight of the season was my daughter taking her first deer. She killed a nice doe on a cool December morning. The shot was around 80 yards and deer dropped where it stood.

That's awesome! Congrats to your daughter on her first deer!
I am a huge deer hunter.  I missed a monster with my bow this season. I was sick lol. I was able to get one though a couple weeks after the miss on a perfect shot. Not the biggest buck or the one I've been looking for but I was happy as could be. Shot him in the Southern Tier here in NY on property my family has hunted for 30+ years. We don't get down there as much anymore after my grandpa passed and we sold the hunting camp. I had always wanted to get a deer down there just never came together until last season.

Very cool. I'd rather see my kids score than me.
When my kids hunt w me my weapon isn't even loaded or ready. Their successes are far better than mine to me and I'm excited bout em for days. I'm sure you understand. Congrats to you both!
Awesome smile on her btw

That picture of ninja jr was the highlight of my season.  I did not deer hunt much this year, maybe 4-5 times.  Just did not have the drive.  Hope to do more of it next season.

Good looking buck babs and glad you got one in that special spot.

Congrats everyone!

I had a good season despite not spending the amount of time in the woods that i typically would have due to the arrival of my daughter in September. I managed to arrow a decent 8-pt and several does...

I ended up starting a little taxidermy studio in my house and took in 30 deer...16 done so far.  :z-dizzy:

Mounted this bruiser the other day...

Nice buck and nice mount. Even better, you're going to have a new hunting partner in a few years.  Make them count, they go by quick.

Congratulations Jason on the little lady!  There is nothing like a youngin, they are a true blessing from the Almighty.

No bucks this year. I had a pretty tough deer season but did add a little meat to the freezer
