Well that and I had sold my 835 Moss been bow huntin deer since. Had a buddy last spring say he would trade me a 11-87 NWTF 25th anniversary edition for a crossbow for it it's in excellent condition. I said ok me and him went every day blasted this 9" beard 26# gobbler dropped him right down. Killed much waterfowl with it this year and my fall hen.

Welcome back and nice bird. Not trying to be the costapo, but don't want to see you get into trouble. 40 yds is what they like to keep it under when taking shots or talking distances on O.G.

Welcome back, yes i wouldn't push the yard stuff...omg ..nice bird

pabossie255

I had patterned this gun well before taking that kind of shot I knew very well it would drop him where he stood.

I have a set of Williams fire dot sights I'm putting on it tomorrow and want to get a sure shot stock set for it but might have to live with a different camo as they have a matching camo for the 870's but the 1100 and 11-87's only come in Realtree APG if I knew the rear 870 stock would fit I'd order ithe set and keep my forearm stock.

You got a nice gun. I was just trying keep you from getting into trouble. One rule is the 40yd rule. If one guy says he can shoot em at 60yds,then pretty soon another is at 70yds...new turkey hunters see that and then they think it's do able and then it's unethical and wasteful. I spend a bunch of money on patterning every year, but even so enjoy calling them in close. Like I said I'm not trying to rain on your parade, but someone else will if you talk about shots over 40yds.

I understand makes sense. Love this older gun I have always been one for older guns and trading a crossbow for this was a no brainer I also bought a Remington 600 Mohawk 243 from him and killed a nice 8 pt first day of PA rifle at 7:40 am and I have not hunted deer with a gun in 8-10 years.

I'm sure someone will give you an answer. I've put a Thumbhole stock and new forend on an old 870. It was years ago and can't remember if they were 870/1100/1187 or just 870. Someone on here will definitely know. I'd almost hate to change up a gun like that, but it's yours....I 'd probably hang onto the old stock and forend at least...

pabossie255

Oh yeah I'm going to hang on to the original stock but the guy I traded for it has a Banelli and he put a pistol grip stock on his and he loves it and I had a rifle with a thumbhole stock and really licked it so think I'm going for it try it out anyways. The guy I traded it for we were hunting geese and they came over us his Banelli jammed while I downed two geese out of my three shots he was screaming think he has a little remorse about the trade as he brought up how many turkeys and other game he had killed with the 11-87 said he was going through his pictures and forgot just how many things he killed with it.

There did not know you could do that another site I'm on after a couple minutes you can't chance anything.

pabossie255

I do not have pictures of all the geese or ducks downed with this gun in the short time I have owned it but I did get my fall hen also with it.
