Hey guys I know I've been MIA for a while but I'm back and have a question for you.
A friend who is a whiz with a lathe wants to turn some strikers.
What is your preferred wood for strikers on a glass pot?
Any tips from you call makers on turning/finishing strikers would be greatly appreciated!

My personal favorite is yellowheart. I also like rosewood, persimmon, and of course dymondwood.

I do like diamond wood, but always go back to hickory straight tip.

One of my personal current interests is nest predators and how a majority of hunters, where legal bait to the extent of chumming coons.  However once they get the predators concentrated they don't control them.

Persimmon and Black Locust are my two favorite at the moment. I lost an old Lonnie Sneed hickory with a walnut top this year out west. It was a good un.
