I have a JellyHead .690 coming for my 835 and I was curious who uses one with H13 or Xtended Range ammo and what shot sizes work best from the .690 and what patterns are you getting?  I have a StarDot and it shoots good, but not great.  When I matched the SD pattern with a .705" Carlson's with H13 #6's it made me think that maybe a .690" was the way to go.

Thanks

With a .690 Jellyhead and Hevi13 3.5" 2.25oz #6s my friends 935 got just over 250 in a 10" circle at 40

Tom,

Here's a pattern I shot with my 835 and the Jelly Head I used to have.  I just bought another one off gunbroker.  But it's a very good choke for probably all size shot.  That's why the .690 exit diameter was chosen to be a good overall size choke for various shots.  But if you are wanting tighter patterns with say #7's a .670 or .675 would give you more than likely better numbers from what I have seen.

Holy smokes!!  That is what I wanted to hear.  I really think that the Hevi13 #7's would be the ticket from my StarDot, I think it's just a tad over choked for the Hevi13 #6's.   I have a couple boxes of the H13 6's is why I am wanting to try the JH .690, I bet the 7's would be great but with the constant components change it worries me.

Similar weather:

Carlson's 705"+2.25oz H13 #6's - 171.

StarDot .676"+2.25oz H13 #6's - 176.

Great pattern with the H13 7's there IlikeHevi13!  Good and even.

The star dot is .676 and plenty are shooting the 835 with a PG .670 and Hevi 2 1/4 oz of #6.  It is not too tight.  VAHUNTER gets an awesome 238 with the 835 and a PG .670.  Very even.  Hopefully he'll post it up.

I have seen that and I have seen VAHunter's pattern, my gun isn't doing it.  I tried a PG .670, Kicks .670 and the SD and none have hit 200 with most shots being in the 170's.  Is that plenty, yes.  Will that kill birds, yes.  I am happy that my gun is 30-60 pellets less than other guns, no.  I am going to try the JH .690 to see.  I find it odd that a .705" will throw the same number as a .676".  The JH may throw the same 170 and if it does it will be for sale too.

Mine won't do it either with the 6 loads.  That's why I don't like the 6's.   But I haven't tried them through the Jelly Head.

The problem I am seeing with the 7's is last years numbers are in the  300's and this years in the 220-240 range.  Good numbers they are, but it dang sure ain't 300.

A couple of Star Dot patterns from my 24" polished barrel 835. I bought a Jellyhead and gave it to my brother for his 835. We didn't run any 6's through it but shooting 7's it won't come close to hanging with the Star Dot.

I've seen several 300+ patterns posted with the newer 300514's. The 300488's were the bad ones.

I average 240-250 with the Jellyhead in my 835, I just bought the 3.5" #7 Hevi's this year to try.  I don't believe its the lot # everyone has been talking about that is bad.  I should be receiving a Star Dot by tomorrow so hopefully I can get out and pattern it before our opener in VA this Sat.

trkehunr93  - that with 6's or 7's?

I did not realize there was only 1 bad lot # with the 7's.  The only place in town that carries Hevi7's has 3 boxes of the crappers.

the 300487s are bad also. I have not seen a 300+ pattern with any 2011 Hevi13 #7s

Tom,
Congrats on your recent Three Toed Dirt Nap.  Looks as if your season is starting off with a BANG literally!  Keep after that BOSS bird, he'll make another mistake.  We get started Saturday the 9th here in Eastern North Carolina.

As you know, I have a 835 and if it's legal in Tenn, I would recommend putting some #7's through that Stardot.  I have a .670 Pure Gold in my 835 right now and I'm getting 300+ at 40 out of it.  And yes that is from last years LOT.  It seems that the 835's like the .670-.675 chokes with the 7's so your Stardot should put up some Great numbers.  Stardots + Hevi 7's + 835's = Extremely Lethal Turkey Killers.  By the way, if you get tired of your Stardot or come across another one PM me.  BEST of LUCK to you.
