As an avid sportsman, hunter and gun owner, I am an Endowment (life upgraded) member of the NRA. I don't agree with all of their policies. I am tired of the nonstop mailings and phone calls asking for more money. BUT!! They are working for me and you. If a semi automatic ban would go into effect, my Browning shotgun could be banned. My M&P could be confiscated. I doubt any of you could get by untouched by new (illegal) gun control laws. Please consider joining a gun rights organization.

It is not a question of those possessing terrorist tendances being barred from purchasing or possessing firearms.  We all agree with that.  The NRA is correct, it is a question of constitutional due process.

I'm sure we've all read this at one time or another and thought it made sense but it may be that it's more relevant now than ever before in the lifetime of most of us.

We need to let our representatives know how we feel and we need to reinforce that with our votes. It's that important.

I am not calling for violent revolution, but a political revolution is past due.  Should a political revolution fail, I am reminded of those great words of Patrick Henry: "I know not what course others may take; but as for me, give me liberty, or give me death!"  A reading af the Declaration of Independence gives one a list of the grievances of the Colonists against the King which grievances are not much different from my grievances against our powerful national government.  It is a question of whether we are men or mice.

In the middle 70s, I read a four volume history of the founding of this contract between the states from early exploration up to the Constitution.  It is titled "Conceived In Liberty" by the great free market economist, Murray Rothbard.  The Kindle edition costs $5 on Amazon and should be required reading for those who want to know from whence we came, what you were not taught in your government controlled schools.

I think next they will us PTSD list from VA to take the Veterans guns. It's only a matter of time. I watch closely what I say when I'm at the VA and suggest you do the same.  I see where some Vet are siding with them saying. No one outside of the Military should have these type of gun. Opinions are like - - - - - .  I can't understand some people.

Clark, I had a lot of free time in my 20s.  I spent it shooting, turkey hunting, drinking and reading Von Misses, Rothbard and Fredrick Hayak, learning more than I did in high school and college.  It made me the skeptic that I am in my old age, a conspiracy factualist.

It does seem however that every era has its unique view of life.
