Boy its been a tuff season for me ,I hunted in Ohio the first week and heard a total of 5 birds
and maybe 15 gobbles all week. Couldn't buy a gobble after fly down. Went to Tenn. for a week and only heard 3 birds for a total of 5 gobbles, again, nothing after they hit the ground. Well I came home and could only hunt the weekend and off to Kansas and things started to get better, I got there at about noon and was to start hunting the next morning.
I thought I might do some scouting and put my camos on and got my little M2 20ga and went for a walk along the river,
more like a creek here but a river out there. Long story short I was tagged out before I got back to camp, Yahoo.
Since I Tagged early I decided to go back to Tenn. and try again and BANG, 1 tagged Fri eve. and another Sat. Morning.
Came back home to Ohio and was able to hunt the last day only ,,,,
and by 6:50 Sun. morning I had the biggest Tom of 50 years of chasing these birds on the ground.
