I've hunted harder than ever this year. I had a great hunt the first week of season killing my biggest bird to date. 10.5 beard, 1 and 5/16 spurs. From there my season got tough with silent birds and gobblers re-joining bachelor groups. It was a long lull until yesterday. It was if someone just turned on the switch and I found a hot bird. With just 2 days left in the NC season I filled my last tag. He was a 2 year old. 9.5 beard and 1 inch spurs. (both birds killed with the yellow shell) I was ready to give up for the year so its taught me to keep hunting even when the going gets tough. I've hunted 6 different properties this year from the mountains to the coast. And after all my traveling around, both of my birds were killed 200 yards from each other on the same farm. It's all about finding the right bird late in the season.

Congrats! Love filling those late season tags. I hate tag soup!

Great job on sticking with 'em. That bottom pic should be on the NC turkey hunting website or something Absolutely beautiful.

One of my personal current interests is nest predators and how a majority of hunters, where legal bait to the extent of chumming coons. However once they get the predators concentrated they don't control them.
