Maybe some of you field hunters can anwser this? As I don't use dekes or actually hunt fields, but will hunt back in the woods from fields that are used by birds.
I realize birds like many types of fields and will frequent many, but honestly do not know about a field with what looks to be rye? Long grass like shoots? This field has always produced sightings and turkey talk when it was just freshly disced, corn stuble or new plant sprouts, but question this field now with rye which was never in this field before? The thing is, it's already about 12in. high, it gets a morning dew, and wonder if turkeys shy away from walking through it, or even going in it when dry as they have no need or intrest to, like the previous fields attracted them?
Just don't seem to be the turkey sign of turkey talk around this field like the past, and wonder if this 12in. high rye is to blame? I know I've seen turkeys go through fields with weeds well above their heads, but just wonder about this rye, which never was planted here previous Springs as I don't have any expierence with it? Thanks
