Looking into buying either of the guns. I have a eotech on my current gun do to bad eyes and I just can't see myself going back to open sights. Can you find a rail for either of the gun to mount a sight on them? Like to know before I purchase one and it also looks like I'll have to be getting it drilled and tapped

Only rail I have saw that matches up with factory holes is for a scope.  Not very helpful.  I would get the Maxus because it is a little lighter.  Then have it drilled and tapped for the optic ya want.

I also looked into that and found that the holes in the Brownings don't match any manufactured rails. I have a Browning Silver and an Eotech. What I ended up doing was buying a picatinny rail and using one of the factory holes measuring out for the other two drilling and counter sinking them and was able to get it mounted that way and I'm glad I did really like that sight.

Howdy Slave!

If you look at the Browning Maxus all purpose Hunter version....this one comes drilled and tapped from he factory. You will need the Browning scope rail as well, I am trying to remember if I had to slightly file out the  weaver notches on the base for the EOTech to fit....I believe I did but it wasn't hard...took all of 5 minutes and the EOTech ran on her for a few seasons....deadly setup!

Here is the model: http://www.browning.com/products/firearms/shotguns/maxus-shotguns/current-production/maxus-all-purpose-hunter-mossy-oak-break-up-country.html

Here is the rail I used.... http://www.browning.com/products/shooting-accessories/scope-rings-and-bases/gold-and-bps-scope-base.html

I know when I put my gun together....more than a few years ago....that was the only mounting option.

Good luck and have fun...great combo! :OGturkeyhead:

the maxus all purpose hunter is drilled and tapped from factory if you buy one that is not you can not drill and tap the others being the receiver is to thin make sure its drilled and tapped when you buy it and yes you have to use the browning base I have a ff3 on mine works fine

This is the best option. Buy a rail n put one extra hole in it. No need to drill gun

Looks like I'll be buying the maxus and slapping the eotech on it! Thanks guys

You will not regret buying the Eotech I love mine

Browning uses an odd size screw and a star washer on their bases.  So, if you do buy a rail and drill it to match the hole pattern on the maxus universal hunter you will also need to find the odd sized screw.  As much as I liked the maxus, I would get the winchester and get their pic rail.  Good luck.
