mossberg 835 help

i have Mossberg 835 and using a Carlson long beard choke with a lead sled.
i started out shooting light load at 15 yds to get to see where my point of aim is and got it close so then moved to 25 yds.
not bad with no. 6 shot long beard and then moved to 40 yds and now  i can't get  it to pattern just right. this lead sled  i just bought i  can't get the forearm to sit on front rest. it sits just in front of it, i don't think it matters. maybe not holding front of gun steady enough. but anyway might have to  start over

Get away from the lead sled and used good sandbags

how many pellets at 40 yds are you getting. I'm shooting wild  maybe get good sand bags and start from there. was using lead sled maybe that's the problem.
maybe 100 in 10 in. circle. never had problems until I got lead sled.

Just curious but why sand bags over lead sled? I have been using my lead sled for a few years and when the gun is strapped in nice and tight the red dot or bead is held perfect on target.

Are you drawing a 10" circle before you shoot? If you are that's probably your issue.
After the shot draw your circle around the most dense part of the pattern. Then count it.
With 3" #6 shot 1&3/4 oz I get in the 240 range with a deep cleaned barrel.

I took Mossberg 835 back to the range and I can only say I'm really blown away with long beard xr turkey shells.
at 40 yards I got at least 210 hits in a 10 inch circle. and about 160 at 50 yards and that's with Carlson choke tube.
will post pics soon. 2 more weeks and its gobbler season.
