Tough time on the youth hunt

Well, I'll keep this short.  Went to MS on the youth hunt with my 10 year old.  Had a strutter @ 20 yards, but couldn't get the gun around to him.

Now, opener in AR, had a "listener" get between us and the birds...we went around to no avail.  Another on cranked up at 815.  Called what turned in to being a pair (one looked and one strutter) into 30 yards, but they came behind us and spotted us.

My son is a trooper and stuck it out until 1100!!!!!  Gunna sit it out this evening (don't wanna burn him out).  Gunna try to roost some this evening.

Good luck with the roosting. Doesn't sound like it was a bad day already though. I am sure his heart rate increased a little and that's what matters.
