Yesterday morning I went in early and never heard a peep. Sat tight and two birds came in with some hens but never got in range. After they left we stayed there and the hens came back in. Around 11:15 a Longbeard snuck in silent from my left and I gave him a face full of hevi 7's. He had a 9 1/2 inch beard and 1 1/4 Spurs. We heard another bird on another ridge so I decided I would go back today. I took my buddy in there and the bird was fired up. Called him from about 200 yards to 30. Told him to kill it whenever he wanted and I watched the load fly over his head. After he flew off and we talked for a minute he gobbled again about 300 yards in the direction he flew to. So we circled around and got within 80 yards but he never would come in and eventually left. Regardless of the miss, we still had a great weekend and had action both days.
