Is there a better time to hunt FL ?

I have the opener of the south zone booked for next year. I'm wondering if I should book later in the season when the hens are nesting or do I go on the opener when the weather is usually great but gobbling hasn't peaked yet. Those of you that have hunted south Florida, what time of the season do you like best?

I hunt the south region. Who did you book with if you don't mind me asking?

Of course it can vary slightly year to year, but I always like the first week. Gobblers are henned up.. but there are more of them!  Hens like to respond and come to calls... they generally bring the gobbler with them..

Weather is another thing.. it can be down right hot in Florida in the later part of the season..

I booked with Swamp Gobbler Outfitters. I wanted to hunt in the south zone since it opens up so early.

Thanks for the input. I'll stick with the opener on March 4th.

Nice!! I personally prefer early season down here because of the cooler temps. But the weather is always hit or miss in south Florida. If I was going to book a hunt it would be the first weekend! Good luck!! Birds have been on fire all year down here and even last weekend with it being later in the season they were gobbling there heads off.

Later = more heat, more bugs, more snakes.
