Need A Laugh this Morning?

I changed the ringtone on my cell phone to some raucous gobbling last night. I let my girlfriend listen to it, she wasn't impressed, and went to bed. Sharon's Mom's health isn't too good and she spends a few nights a week at her house, so I got in the habit of taking my phone to bed with me in case she wants to get a hold of me in the night.

I was jarred out of a sound sleep at 6:30 this morning by gobbling turkeys and for a few seconds I didn't know what to do. They sounded close, so I froze and awaited further developments. It didn't take long for it to dawn on me what was going on, but it was touch and go there for a few seconds.

That's hilarious! If a turkey gobble fails to get the old heart rate going then I am afraid I would have to quit.

Id made the mistake of setting my phone to the sound of a buck grunt a couple years ago. I'd forgotten to put it on vibrate before entering the stand and someone sent me a text message. It was a bit muffled but sounded as if he was grunting behind me. I knew he was close but not real sure how close. I stayed froze in the stand for some time peering out the corner of my eye. Figured he'd left after a period of time so I returned the message and put the phone back. When I got another reply, I'd realized what had happened. Got a pretty good kick out of it myself.

Or like most of us getting close to the the season but still a few weeks and being tortured by Florida , Mississippi, and now bama boys

Yes sir, I'm ready to roll. I usually don't get it this bad til a little closer to season, but like you said, all this great turkey talk and now the pictures.... May 1st. seems like a long ways off.
