Took advantage of a good price on a maverick 88 12ga. This past summer, thinking that it would be a great all-purpose shotgun. So far I am really pleased with it. But I was concerned about that shiny blue barrel. Since it was ultimately only a $200 gun, spray paint is something I would consider, but maybe as a last resort. I bought a removable vinyl wrap from
camowraps.com, but I am not all that pleased with the results. Dramatic curves were hard to get the wrap to conform to, and there are several loose edges, wrinkles and bubbles that just would not come out. The kit did not come with any material for covering the magazine tube, and the loose edges on the forend were so bad that the wrap just came off of it the first time i took it rabbit hunting.i have seen reviews online that suggest that the wrap sold by mossy oak is easier to apply and more durable than the camowraps one, but I'd hate to buy one and it be just as bad
