Decoy question

Would  a setup that had two feeding hens have any advantage over a single feeder or even a two hen setup of one feeder and one looker?

Thoughts?

Thanks in advance

As long as you're dealing with good quality decoys I don't see where it could hurt....

Here's the way I see it...

If you're going to a buffet for dinner, would you rather have one entree to choose from or more than one entree?

If you have them, use them.  Just remember you have to pack them in and out of your setup.

Haulin the decoys is the only problem you'll have with multiple decoys. More hens might make a gobbler feel more safe and confident about the setup. Try it out. I'm all about tryin out different setups with my decoys and trying different calling strategies. Good luck! :you_rock:

Feeding hens are relaxed hens, so I would say yes. I try to mimic nature when using my dekes. If I'm seeing lots of hens, I'll use multiple hen dekes. Later in the season, I reduce the number of dekes, eventually getting down to only one hen.

the more the better early in the season. If you know where he is roosted put them to the side of your setup so that he comes in range of you before he holds up incase he does... good luck

I hunted with my buddy and my cousin once last year and we had a total of 6 hens and 3 jakes in the field lol we just put out every decoy we each carried. Just curious what is a deke, I have seen it on here alot.

Thanks for the responses fellas.

Going to try a one or two"feeding" hen setup and see how that goes.
