Finally got a break in the rain Tues am. Huntin in a favorite family land field that I've hunted for over 25yrs, a buddy told me that he had pasted by and saw at least 25 birds in the field late Mon pm. Had a gobbler fly to the field at 7:15am followed by 1 hen, they landed about 200yds from me. No gobblin was heard.....I didn't owl or crow, plenty of crows callin, but no gobblin....I know there is at least 4 or 5 big gobblers around this 100 ac field that I call the "smoke house". I ran a short low vol. yelp followed by 2 or 3 clucks.....it took maybe 15 min for him to strut and walk over to me. It was a very good mornin!!
